Person(s) Responsible
Timeline: Start/End

Evaluation
1. Create and implement a parent communication log that is mandatory for all teachers.

March-June
Creation of the communication log form
Each six weeks, administrators will review the logs of the teachers, follow up on at least two communications,  and set up a conference with the teacher and/or parent for any irregularities noticed.
2. Promote the campus open house to parents using the local newspaper, local businesses, parent email and telephone, as well as the students themselves.
Teachers
Administrators
Registrars
Students
March  (date of the parent meeting)
Money to advertise open house date and time information in the local newspaper
Creation of flyers and distribution to local businesses and students
Collection of as many parent telephone numbers and email addresses as possible by the registrars to use for a mass email and a prepared telephone message.

Have the parents that attend the open house complete a short survey before they leave, or use Survey Monkey, to explain how they learned of the open house and their impressions of the open house.
Send an email to all the teachers the following day to evaluate the numbers of parents that attend and how the numbers compare to previous years.
3. Local businesses sponsor spring sports pep rallies held on campus
Teachers
Administrators
Coaches
Students
April
Time to contact all possible local businesses about sponsorship opportunity
Create flyers to advertise pep rallies at local businesses, in the local newspaper, and on campus
Provide everyone attending with a survey, or use Survey Monkey, to complete after the pep rally to gather feedback on the effectiveness of the pep rallies.

  1. First of all, I love your blog page, very nice. I like your plan to improve parent contact, with documentation, as that seems to be a very integral part of our education system; albeit often overlooked. Students with involved parents tend to perform better in school. I look forward to seeing the results of your study.

  2. I love your idea of the parent log form. We have something similar at my campus to parental contacts but it is only for students who fail. We have to contact their parents, log the information, and turn it in to our supervisor. However, I like the idea of having a log of all contacts that is mandatory and turned in. I think it can help with parental involvement because it shows the parents that you as the teacher care.
